Charlie Bigger was born in Dayton, OH and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California College of the Arts in 1971. While at California College of the Arts he studied under Charles Simmons in the sculpture department and worked as foundry technician at the school before graduating with high honors. Earlier in his college career, before graduating from CCA, he attended several different schools including Southern Illinois University where he worked under Nicolas Vergette in the Ceramics Department, and was part of Design program founded by Buckminster Fuller.

Charlie currently lives and works in Seattle, WA where he divides his studio time between his small sculpture work, public art installations, and corporate outreach projects.
