Feeling a pull to return to the earth and find a means to express and respond to the world, Robert began studying at Kirkland Arts Center. His current work, whether functional or decorative, shows experimentation with a variety of finishes. Robert enjoys the free-form finishes of pit-fire and Raku, the slightly more predictable results of high-fired reduction and mid-fired oxidation glazes, and the precise results of low-fired glazes in oxidation. Besides working at his studio, Remolino Arts, in Kingsgate, Robert can be found sharing his ceramic knowledge with young artists at the Kirkland Arts Center and Robert Frost Elementary.
Robert typically teaches youth clay classes.
