Julia Carpenter holds an M.F.A in painting from Montana State University (MSU) and a B.S. in Art education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Julia’s portrait paintings have been exhibited all over the country and been featured in numerous publications including the newspaper, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and the book, Addiction and Art, published by Johns Hopkins University Press in 2010.
She taught drawing and painting for 5 years at MSU and 2 years at Belgrade High School in Montana. She has also developed and taught numerous workshops and drawing classes for adults and teens. Her passion for teaching has led her to volunteering at Seattle Art Museum as well as creating a children’s art program at Passage Point of the YWCA, in Maple Valley, WA.
She currently creates art and teaches privately at her art studio at Inscape Arts in Seattle, WA.
