Soo Hong is an abstract artist. Visual sense was her way of understanding her surroundings, which led her towards art and design. She earned her Master’s degree at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, UK. Through gestural lines, various hues and fluid movements, she introduces automatism technique into her abstraction. Hong says, “Painting is a place where I can understand my surroundings.” She has exhibited globally in New York, London, Copenhagen, Rotterdam, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong. She was a university lecturer, guest speaker and have been teaching from teenagers to adults in her private studio. Currently she lives in Greater Seattle Area with her family.
